Big Bear Tech World Releases MinIO Docker Image (Built from Source)

What alternative for minIO?

This year I want to learn, setup and play with S3 compatibile storage in my home LAB. But, do You community consider minIO as good choice for where to start?
As I see it - minIO CE is not only stop builds docker images. They stop release new versions- there is 2 months gap:

Also there is Maintenance mode which stops all new features. Community describe introducing “PR CLA/Maintenance mode” as betrayal.

If there will be no good community fork or no new versions, one day security will be the biggest problem. So is it worth starting now with minIO?
Do You use any alternatives fork? Which?

Or do You use Garage?

Or SlateDB?

Ceph and StorJ is too heavy seems for me.
Btw: big-bear-minio has 855 downloads. Good work!
