I was trying to install 2fauth, it was telling me that port 8000 was in use, i set it to 8001 to see if i could get it running, but it just wouldnt connect, so i thought ok so casaos is running on 8000 (which it wasnt) i’ll just change that. so i changed the webport from casaos’s settings page.. it changed the port properly i assume, but then home assistant even though i could get to the page. it asked to be setup again.. so i freaked out and set it back to 80 even though i know that couldnt be the problem.. now i am sitting here looking at the initial install of home assistant..
Hi @FriGiN and welcome here!
I am not sure, what happened to Your HA. But I try to tell some words in case, that it helps You.
If some >>app<< occupies Your desired port, You can change port (8000) to something else (You write us You tried it with 8001). You can change newly installed app’s port but also old one running app→ stop and change port…
Every time when You change something on App’s setting, container of this app will be restarted and during restart, old port is released and if restart is success, new port is used (occupied).
During this restart of container, all settings will be lost, it remains only settings leaved in box Volumes (mapping Host : Container)
So, if Your HA was already installed, explore this data folder on Your casaOS Host.
You can use ssh/sftp connection via Terminal. Or use casaOS Apps: Files (installed & configured with casaOS), Filebrowser (need to install).
If there is Your data leaved safe from previous installation. It is just configuration error.
Do not be confused, there are two apps in casaOS’s App Store with name Home Assistant. Both has different version. Maybe previous You installed new one and next time try to installed second one.
