Hi; can someone please explain how to manually update Nextcloud in CasaOS? It says that I have an update available and that I need to do it manually since my “web updater is disabled”.

Click on the 3 dots on the top right of the icon and select “Settings”. Change the Tag entry to version-31.0.6 and then click Save. That should do the trick.
Hi…thanks for replying. Nextcloud says version 31.06 is available. However when I click each of the 4 Headers within the Settings as you suggested, I don’t see “31.0.6” as an option in the TAG dropdown. See attached
On the 3rd header, manually enter “version-31.0.6” (without the quotes) in the Tag box and click Save. You might need to copy/paste to enter it.
I set all 4 containers (headers) to “latest” and now I have an unhealthy container:
bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bigbeartechworld/big-bear-scripts/master/casaos-healthcheck/run.sh)"
Container: db-nextcloud
⚠ Status: restarting
Health: unhealthy
Restart Count: 15
woopsie doodles, i have no idea how to fix this. I saw a dependency error when it was updating on the main CasaOS page.
apt install -f
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
I am a noob, not sure what to do next? Mom, it’s broken!
Thanks so much…this work!!! Much appreciated
I only changed the 3rd header as “Cog” suggested to “latest”. I left all over Tag versions the same. I have not encountered any errors since.
Yeah, you should only change the “nextcloud” tag, leave the other 3 tags as is unless NextCloud tells you otherwise.
Change the “cron” Tag back to “latest”. The db-nextcloud should be 14.2 and the redis-nextcloud should be 6.2.6, leaving the nextcloud tag as 31.0.6 as shown below.
I set all 4 tabs back as adised. The redis container said unhealthy so I changed it to Latest and finally nextcloud could open again. cron=latest, db-nextcloud=14.2, nextcloud=31.0.6, redis-nextcloud=latest
However, the nextcloud webpage says
Update needed
Please use the command line updater because updating via browser is disabled in your config.php.
For help, see the documentation."
Am I too damaged to recover? When I enter 31.0.6 for Nextcloud to do the update required, CasaOS pops up a message at the top
Error response from daemon: manifest for bigbeartechworld/big-bear-nextcloud-with-smbclient:31.0.6 not found: manifest unknown: manifest unknown
I updated CasaOS not long ago and just realized I had to re-add the bigbear repository. However, my version of nextcloud is no longer there (with SMB legacy).
I followed this youtube video, with mariadb. Fresh start, probably this one will be updatable without causing total data loss. This one does not have the 4 tabs, just one.
The latest version is now 31.0.12 so you could try that first. I couldn’t get the all in one version to work for me but this was awhile back now so maybe it’s fine now?
Yeah, I would’ve recommended a fresh install of Nextcloud as well at this point.
The video I linked was the most recent one, 1 yr old by now, but it worked quick and painless. There was one small error that the database name should be nextcloud and not casaos as you find in one part of his notes. Hopefully this version will be easy to update
